Lady Lancers Dominate Mariners
SANTA MONICA — The Lady Lancer Volleyball team swept the St. Monica Mariners on Tuesday night at St. Monica High School.
The Lady Lancers controlled the first set, only allowing the Mariners to score 10 points, compared to the Lady Lancers’ 25. The starting libero, Jenelle Consignado, returned after four weeks out and dominated the first match.
As all 13 players got into the match, Briana Rodriguez led the outside kills.
In the second set, the Lancers continued on their way to victory, thanks to Chisom Nwosu and Destiny Arias, who had strong blocks in the middle.
“Chisom’s attacks have been improving every practice,” Coach Naomi Hernandez said.
The Lady Lancers completed the second match with a score of 25-14.
In the final match, Analisa Razo stepped in to set and play right side defense. The Lady Lancers won the third and final match 25-14.
The Lancers hope to continue their winning streak and are set to play Serra High School on September 18, 2018.
