Girls’ Tennis Smashes Workman High School
The Girl’s Tennis team met up with William Workman High School in a non- league scrimmage on Monday and brought home a victory, defeating Workman 16-2.
The Lancers started their match off strong with Senior Maya Franco victorious in her singles, scoring 6-3 and 6-0 to pave the way for an easy defeat over Workman.
Following in the example of Franco, Catalina Venegas and Alex Huizar finished their singles matches with wins, creating a huge advantage for the Lancers and increased their chances of winning.
Doubles teams, Miranda Granados and Alyssa Quezada alongside Imelda Rodriguez and Celeste Gonzalez, assisted the lead through their victories. Granados and Quezada swept the doubles match with an outstanding three rounds.
To end the game, the doubles helped secure the win with the help of Isabella Torres and Alexis Nebrinsky ending their matches with 6-4 and 6-1.
The girls prepare to face off La Salle High School this upcoming Tuesday, September 18.
