X-Country captain Jessica Gallardo wins regional athlete of the week

Senior Jessica Gallardo, captain of the Lady Lancers cross country team, was voted the SoCal Prep Legends Girls Athlete of the Week receiving more than 10,000 votes.
She won the Rough Rider Invitational Large Schools Division heat with a time of 18:44 for the 3.1-mile race beating her nearest competitor by 15 seconds.
Gallardo beat runners Diana Maile from Redlands East Valley High School and Stefani Gaskell from Sultana High School in the SoCal Prep Legends contest.
Voting took place throughout the week and consisted of top female athletes ranging from Redlands to Long Beach to the San Fernando Valley.
