Lady Lancers fall to Chaminade in Round 1 of CIF Playoffs
The Lady Lancers lost to the highly ranked Chaminade Eagles on Thursday night at the Carroll Center in the first round of CIF playoffs.
Junior hitters Laura Ayon and Caren Stone got it started for the Lancers as they got off to a quick start with the early lead. The Lancers had the largest lead in the first with the score 9-3 causing the Eagles to use a timeout during the Lancers scoring run.
Chaminade took control of the set from there limiting senior outside hitter Briana Rodriguez with their big block.
Chaminade definitely had a size advantage over the Lancers with their 6-2 sophomore hitter Bridget Brady and 5-10 sophomore outside hitter Izzy Martinez.
With the Eagles’ block the Lancers could barely put the ball down on offense.
The Eagles dominated by winning all three sets to sweep the Lancers.
